The emblem of a chain of São Paulo barber shops modelled on 1940s New York — a moustached and bearded skull. The owner had it tattooed on himself to mark his first year in business, then had the same death’s head engraved on the back of his Reverso. Proof that the case-back tradition never belonged exclusively to princes and generals.
