Cloisonné enamel dial · sweep centre seconds · engraved initials
A steel Reverso, ref. 1101 (case No. 25027, movement No. 74350), fitted at some later point with a cloisonné enamel dial depicting a polo player in action — an appropriate choice for a case shape born on the polo field, even though the dial itself was added after the watch’s 1937 manufacture rather than at the factory. Runs the octagonal-shaped, nickel-finished calibre 411 with 15 jewels and a rotating sweep centre-seconds disc built into the rectangular back-plate, a genuinely unusual complication for the period. The case-back carries engraved initials “AJ,” whose owner is not otherwise documented.
