Artistic Edition
Three rare crafts at once, on a case-back the size of a stamp.
← Back to StoriesFloral compositions on the Reverso One, notable because each piece combines three separate Métiers Rares disciplines simultaneously — enamelling, hand engraving and gem-setting — rather than showcasing one. The series was extended with further hibiscus designs after the original quartet.

“A symbol of admiration and appreciation.” The blooms are enamelled in graduated shades of blue against a light blue lacquered background, while the foliage is fully diamond-set. The winding crown carries a reverse-set diamond, and grain-set diamonds wrap the case from front to back.

“A symbol of charm and passion.” A fully diamond-set model in sea green — flowers and leaves are enamelled, and the entire background is snow-set, a technique that takes roughly an hour to set just five or six stones. In total the gem-setting on this piece runs to 95 hours, wrapping seamlessly from the case-sides to the bezel.

Shiny green alligator strap; manual-wound calibre 846, 38-hour power reserve; 10 pieces.

White lilies — purity, devotion, honour — on a white gold case whose back is relief-engraved: the background metal sculpted away so only the raised floral outline remains, each bloom hand-engraved to replicate petal texture. Leaves are enamelled in a rich blue, stamens in light blue, and the sky-blue background is laid with tissue-fine wafers of mother-of-pearl. 335 grain-set diamonds (2.44 ct) wrap front to back; reverse-set diamond crown. Shiny blue alligator strap; manual-wound calibre 846; 10 pieces.

Blue hibiscus flowers in Grand Feu champlevé enamel — 12 colour trials to get the shade transitions right, roughly 30 hours of enamelling — with stamens accented in 24-carat gold leaf beneath the enamel. Set against snow-set diamonds like the Birds of Paradise piece; the gadroons and lugs carry a further ~523 diamonds (2.02 ct), 20 hours of setting. 150 hours of Métiers Rares craftsmanship in total.

The tropical hibiscus in tones evoking a sun-drenched lagoon — the first Métiers Rares Reverso One to run Grand Feu enamel across the full background, over the convex case-sides and onto the dial. Flowers and leaves use 12 enamel colours across nine layers; paillonnage accents the golden stamens with 24-carat gold leaf beneath the enamel. Gadroons and lugs carry ~157 diamonds (1.25 ct). 50 hours of enamelling plus 22 of gem-setting — 72 hours of Métiers d’Art work. Bespoke shiny blue alligator strap, tinted to match.

Freedom and joy, rendered as a bird-of-paradise flower carved from the flat gold case-back before enamelling. Shaped 24-carat gold leaf pieces sit beneath the orange and gold tones; the enameller layers 19 pigments across up to nine layers, roughly 60 hours of work. Snow-set diamonds — nine hand-set sizes, 331 stones (1.64 ct), 65 hours — surround the flower for continuous sparkle. Custom-dyed shiny green alligator strap. 125 hours of Métiers Rares craftsmanship in total.
