## The Gibson Guitar Reverso

Twenty years of playing guitar, one of them for a living, and a 1964 Gibson ES-335 in red lacquer on the back of a Reverso.

Reverso Tribute, 40.1mm

I bought this 40.1 mm Reverso Tribute last year. It was my first Reverso in this size, and it eventually made me realize that I much prefer the proportions of the 40.1 mm and 42.9 mm cases to the larger 45.6 mm version.

I have been playing guitar for more than twenty years and, at one point in my life, I also played professionally. For the engraving, I chose one of my favourite guitars: a 1964 Gibson ES-335. That period is particularly important in the history of the model, as the quality of the wood and construction is widely regarded as being among Gibson’s best. Eric Clapton’s famous cherry red ES-335 was also made in 1964, which made the choice even more meaningful to me.

I also had my initials engraved in an Art Deco typeface. Fortunately, the manufacture did an excellent job with the lacquered engraving, and the final result surpassed my expectations.
