For his birthday in 2018, Cho Hyunchul’s five-year-old son Yoonjae painted his portrait — a round face, one eye larger than the other, a few strokes of hair. It meant enough that his father wanted it with him every day, so he had it engraved on the back of a Reverso Classic bought in Seoul that May, complete with the date and the words *“from YJ”* in the boy’s own hand. It is his most prized possession, and he is already planning to give it away: *“When my son is a grown man, and perhaps himself the father of his own family, I will give him the watch to remind him of the touching moment when he gave his father this wonderful birthday gift.”*
